This is truly heinous. I guess Conservative Republicans truly want to be considered disgusting and evil.

Vile. That said, despite the fact that "liberal" is scrawled across the cat's body, I'll bet it a kid or kids doing this, with no real thought to politics, much like the nazi-style graffiti gets used by kids to create a ruckus. Either way, psychotic and actionable. That poor 5 year old. Poor cat. How awful.

Considering the family it happened to and the timing of the event, it certainly seems politically motivated. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was either an adult or if a teen, then motivated by their parents. Delinquent teens would have written "Faggot" or "Whore", but "Liberal"? That's a pretty specific message.

I can't stand animal abuse stories so I won't click on this or other links I've seen around about the story. But I have to say, it reminds me of those insane stories like the woman who was working on the McCain campaign who said she was held down while somebody carved Obama on her forehead or whatever and of course the letters were backwards because she did it herself in the mirror.

Or that crazy woman who said a homeless women threw acid in her face in a parking lot but that too was self-inflicted because the woman wanted to get the word out to everybody about Jesus.

Namo, my first thought was the backwards B girl, too. You'd think a father wouldn't kill his kid's cat just to make a statement, but you'd think a woman wouldn't scrape a B on to her face either.

I guess I am jaded, but I thought of backwards B girl, too. I don't know that this guy would kill his own cat, but I wouldn't put it past someone else just to get some press. The fact that they discovered it on the way back from the gas station when filling up to go to church makes it sound suspicious. I am supposed to believe that someone was waiting around for him to leave in the early AM on a Sunday? Maybe it's completely legit, but I am skeptical.

It doesn't remind me of those things, Finding Namo. For the simple reason that I think it's highly unlikely that a congressional campaign manager - for either party - would kill his or her pet in a political stunt like that.

Well, over the years I have come to question these sort of things. I have no way of knowing. It's not hard for me to imagine the family pet died and then it was retroactively turned into a slaughter with an anti-liberal message. Not even necessarily by anybody in the family of the campaign manager.
