I just received this email from a friend, you might want to register you cell phone to avoid the hassle.
*********
Cell phone numbers going public tomorrow
REMINDER...all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls.
....YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time
It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.
HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS

I got this from my sister-in-law a month ago. I checked it out at snopes.com, as I do with most emails that people forward. Snopes is a great resource.

I was teaching today and had forgotten to silence my cellphone. It rang during class and it was a telemarketer.
(My ringtone is Louis Armstrong singing "Hello, Dolly!" and my students throught it was "whack". I'll fail every friggin' one of them unless they write a 750 word essay pondering the meaning of the phrase "great grindstones".)

Posted: 3/13/08 at 11:26pmI actually did get a call from a telemarketer on my cell phone today and I've never gotten one before. It was a recording; otherwise I would have told them off.

Wow, that Snopes is a cool site.
I never knew that Sylvester Stallone started his career as a porn star. And his porn film is for sale on Amazon!

while that particular "cell phones going public" thing is crap, it never hurts to register them with the do not call list.
Yesterdays paper here had an article on how much spam was happening on cell phone texting.....(not that anything is going public as that is false)and how much will come.
The numbers aren't going public, but these guys have computers where they can randomly generate long lists of numbers that they hope are cellphones, and.......it is affecting people, AND......the phone companies (Verizon and ATT, where my cellphones are from) have both told me just last Fall that "too bad, you're responsible"
It is an issue, just not in the way th poster thought
