You shouldn't expect a response in 10 minutes on this board! Anyway, I'm not a girl, so I have no experience with this, but I would reccomend "I Can't Say No" from Oklahoma.
sorry for my impatience!
thanks, ill listen to it.
I've always loved "My New Philosophy" from YAGMCB. But I would only suggest using that song if you're a strong belter.

maybe "its a perfect relationship" from bells are ringing.
ive never sung it, but its cute and charactery, and less overdone than "my new philosophy"
Im not a girl but I'd have to agree with defy gravity

Some of the stuff I've worked on/working on right now include "Nothing" and "The Ladies Who Lunch"

Though both great songs, "Nothing" and "Ladies Who Lunch" aren't really good choices for an audition. "Nothing" is a narrative song, which is generally discouraged for audition purposes and "Ladies Who Lunch" is meant for a really mature character, as are many of Sondheim's pieces.
I think "Perfect Relationship" would actually be a pretty good audition song for a stepsister.

Buy the cast recording to Carnival and listen to Kaye Ballard's songs.
Direct From Vienna can work.
For that matter listen to just about any song Kaye Ballard ever put into a show except Lazy Afternoon.
I sang perfect relationship for Into The Woods and it got me a callback for little red/ the ROLE of Lucinda a stepsister. Do that!!!
is the perfect relationship an uptempo or a ballad?

Get the show version of Matchmaker, Matchmaker from Fiddler. Yes, the trio.
Find three completely separate voices, deliveries and characters for Tzeitel, Hodel and Chava. Make sure we can tell them apart. Learn the song finding the melody line. Figure out which line you'll sing when. Rehearse it within an inch of its life.
Sing the whole song as a Trio-For-One. Don't camp it. Don't even acknowledge that you're doing what you're doing. Do it like this is the way it has always been done.
If this doesn't dazzle them, what will? Cartwheels? Baton twirling? Trained animals?
P.Relationship is a very sweet uptempo

Dude. Find a Rodgers and Hammerstein up tempo number.
Don't do modern stuff, DONT do sondheim (is the score of cinderella really anything like his stuff?)
The Gentleman Is A Dope (from allegro) would be a really good choice, especially if you change the context a little and set it as if you were one of the sisters.
I can't say no - brill but possibly overdone
It's Me! (from Me and Juliet) - brill and fun
can't think of any others right now, but find gentleman, and you're set xx
Um sing Gorgeous from The Apple Tree. The entire song is talking about how gorgeous she is and how awesome she looks. It'd work like amazingly
hahahahaha that song is hilarious!
i might use it!
Supportivemom: I tried to message you, but it wouldn't let me!! I used that song for college auditions and it worked wonderfully. I actually got my voice teacher to make a recording. So let me see if I can find it and I can email it to you!!
