There are lots of right way to do films, and one of the right ways to do a film was found by Michel Gondry when he made the only good film yet made from a Kaufman Batch O' Gimmicks: ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, which is to BEING JOHN MALKOVICH what THE GODFATHER is to DePalama's SCARFACE.
I never said that Kaufman's scripts are bogus and gimmicky because they aren't my style or taste. I think that Kaufman's scripts are bogus and gimmicky because they are, well, bogus and gimmicky. There are lots of things that aren't my style or taste that aren't bogus or gimmicky.
