I have a picture of me with Charo on my lap that was taken during a performance in Waikiki in about 1996. She was a hoot.
On Kauai where she had a house for years and owned a very popular restaurant, you could not find anyone who had a bad thing to say about her.
In the mid 70s Charo went to court and told a judge that all her birth records had been destroyed in a church fire and needed a birth certificate. She swore that she was 26 which was my age at the time and is how I can remember this. The judge ruled that she was legally 26. Doing today's math, she would have been 35 at that time. Gotta love somebody who does something like this.
