Oh I knew someone would point that out with full snark on. If removing that one playful inclusion makes you feel better, do it. Oh no! That one removed tipped the scale back to complete failure!! Let's impeach him NOW!
I kept trying to be optimistic but the way he has handled health care reform has been so awful that at this point I'm pretty much done with him and the democratic party in general. I'm sorry but a mandate without a public option is a disaster and exactly what Obama campaigned AGAINST. The Democratic party, led by Obama is spineless. They've lost my vote. I'm going to have to start voting independent even if they don't have a chance in hell of winning.
What does voting independent even mean? The largest representation of this country is independents or those who are not registered republican or democrat. The politics between every independent is incredibly different. If you want to go just by the 'I's in recent Senate history you got Jim Jeffords (Rockefeller Republican), Bernie Sanders (socialist and he'd be the first to tell you so), and Joe Lieberman (party of Joe). There are several small third parties but they are lucky if they are spoilers in this day in age. Do you necessarily start voting for just people than the party? Because that is what most of America's third parties really ever amounted to in the larger scheme of things with the Bull Moose Party the possible exception but that lasted about a decade.
Not saying you should keep quiet and suck it up, Erik, but there have always been shifts within the party system because of changes in attitudes from the base. I am as Big Tent as they come but I want to get rid of the Blue Dogs/ConservaDems like Ben Nelson.
"... in this day in age ..." I adore these little things you get wrong, I really do. This is why I am not interested in who you are, but rather who you used to be.
Obama has been dreadful. He didn't have the experience for the job and it shows. Unless he does a lot better in the next two years, I will not support him.
