Christmas Specials

Which have you seen this season?
What are your favorites, old or recent?

I saw old Andy Williams Christmas shows when I was on tour a few weeks ago. Right now Audra is singing on WTTW.
I love the Amy Grant Christmas special many years ago and of course Julie's THE SOUND OF CHRISTMAS.

re: Christmas Specials

Glebb, do you mean those made for TV Christmas specials with variety guests, like the Andy Williams Christmas show?

If so, then I just watched one on PBS...the Lawrence Welk show. I don't know what year it was, but his grandchildren were still pretty young!

If you mean a tv movie special, then I just watched the "Year Without a Santa Claus" special on the Family channel. Can't let the holiday pass without SnowMeiser and HeatMeiser!

re: Christmas Specials

She liked the tinkle-tinkle sound when the dog-reindeer's feet hit the snow.

And she liked whenever the people of Who-ville would sing.

re: Christmas Specials

I really don't watch a lot of T.V., since I'm a computer addict...but my math teacher put on two movies for us today. They were A Charlie Brown Christmas (my favorite!) and The Grinch cartoon, which we only watched for about ten minutes before we had to leave for an assembly.

re: Christmas Specials

Of course A Charlie Brown Christmas but I also look forward to seeing A Very Brady Christmas appear every year.
"If there was a Mount Rushmore for Broadway scores, "West Side Story" would be front and center. It snaps, it crackles it pops! It surges with a roar, its energy and sheer life undiminished by the years" - NYPost reviewer Elisabeth Vincentelli

re: Christmas Specials

I miss the Andy Williams Christmas shows (this dates me....). I always watch "It's a Wonderful Life" and cry at the end each year.
Love "The Grinch"
and I also enjoy "A Christmas Carol" (original)

re: Christmas Specials

my favorite is "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street." I'm 17, but hey, it's good! :)
In my family, it's a tradition to watch that every year after Christmas Eve dinner. can't wait to watch it tonight! lol

24 hours of "A Christmas Story" on TBS...started about 20 minutes ago...if you're upset about missing that first 20 minutes, fear not...it's on 10 more times. re: Christmas Specials

re: Christmas Specials

'The Year Without A Santa Claus' is the alpha and omega of Christmas specials as far as I'm concerned. It is nothing short of perfection.
