Posted: 8/28/11 at 1:28pmSometimes I get information in the mail about a class action lawsuit of a credit card or a company that I have done business with. The latest example is one against Classmates.com. I usually don't join because it looks like the outcome will only be a couple of dollars. Has anyone ever joined any of these class actions lawsuits? Do they really pay out?

If you read the info - usually you don't have to JOIN the class action - you only respond if you want to opt out of it.
And I usually ignore them. But there was one awhile back from an internet hosting service I use which had a class action against it for exceeding downtimes during a server transition. My actual websites were not really affected that much - but the company lost and I wound up with a check for about $60 randomly one day.
