Coffee shop suggestions?

Okay, I hate to do this, but does anyone have any suggestions -- other than Starbucks! -- in the midtown area? It's for a date, so I want something nice, but cozy... something along the lines of French Roast, maybe? And it has to be open late. I'm not a big drinker, so I want to try to avoid the bar scene, and coffee seems like a good alternative.
