as always... one of the few things I get to show off on this board since you all talk about theater so much! haha...
just had a great preview night... looking forward to the next few days... hopefully I can do the Oz panel tomorrow... the Firefly reunion on Friday as well as Game of Thrones... The Hobbit on Saturday... the finale Fringe panel on Sunday... those are my big ones...
still debating doing the walking dead obstacle course...
and tons of free swag!!!
anyone else here going???
I wish I could go.
Please keep us posted on what you see and who you meet!!
Have fun! But be careful, those comic-con nerds are known for their love of lasagna.
I just watched the comic con documentary from a few years ago done by the same guy who did the mcdonalds super size me documentary.
Their major complaint in it was that every year the convention was becoming less and less about comic books and more to do with movies and tv shows. I just found it amusing cause that's all you posted about it, I don't care either way it just reminded me of it lol
have fun!

I guess it's only fair--we get 'Into the Woods' in the Park, and whatnot. But still....Aaargh--I'm so jealous! I SO wanted to go--the 'Archer' panel alone is worth the trip.
Yes, please give us awesome accounts like you did last year so I can live vicariously.
If you see the moment to kidnap Jensen Ackles please do. I need a new playmate for Taz & I in the dungeon. Supernatural is doing their own convention in a few weeks at a hotel right down the street from where I live. Jensen is not able to go. I guess the restraining order went through, lol.
The Community one with the new show runners should be interesting.

Today was a great day at the con... I actually spent most of my day across the street at the Gaslamp Quarter because they usually have tons of free swag... and I got a lot!
I got into my panel and saw previews of Frankenweenie, Oz the Great and Powerful, Wreck-It Ralph and the Lone Ranger
Frankenweenie is typical TIm Burton
Oza the Great and Powerful looked pretty interesting... Sam Raimi, Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams were on hand to talk about it...
Wreck-It Ralph is just hilarious and I can't wait to see it
The Lone Ranger didn't look half bad. It definitely looked and felt like Gore Verbinski's Pirates movies set to the Old West...
Tomorrow's panels are going to be Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and some movies... I wanted to do the Community but i wanted do the Big Bang Instead... and I'm going to have to miss the Firefly reunion because I want to see The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones...
oh and yeah Broadway Joe... everyone says that about comic con now... but i have to admit... i started attending because of the pop culture stuff but it really brought me back into graphic novels... ever since i started going i always purchase some graphic novels.. i'm glad the convention made me appreciate them once more
the only star I really got to see up close was John Noble of Fringe and Lord of the Rings movies... i was eating dinner outside behind the convention center where it's pretty empty... and I see him walking down the sidewalk... literally like two feet in front of me! i hate asking for autographs so i didn't... but it was nice seeing him right next to me! ha
Cool about John Noble!
thanks for the updates too! What kind of swag did you snag?
Addison,
Archer = greatness. It's one of my favorite shows. LOVE it.
If you get a chance, check out Frisky Dingo (it's on dvd). It only ran for 2 seasons but it's by the same crew who went on to do Archer. It's the same type of humor except even more surreal and absurd. It's hilarious, and the star (Killface) is just classic.
The other star is basically a proto-Archer, but not as smart.
It's sort of serialized, so if you can watch it from the beginning it will make more sense. Although the show never really makes sense anyway which is kind of the point.
Tinky,
Jensen is fine, I mean I wouldn't kick him out of the dungeon or anything, but I would prefer Jared. Or Ian Somerhalder if Vampire Diaries is not filming. I promise you a good show. ![]()
For Addison
Ian it is! :)

Was shocked to see this AP headline this morning:
Comic-Con crowd goes crazy for 'Hobbit' footage
Edgar Wright is doing Ant-Man for real, Guardians of the Galaxy is in development, and Captain America is doing the Winter Soldier story line. Not to mention Iron Man 3 and the Thor sequel announced.
Oh yeah, there was footage for Man of Steel (which actually sounded good if you are into the Grant Morrison/Action Comics Superman), but DC got clearly outclassed by Marvel yet again at SDCC. You wouldn't know The Dark Knight Rises is happening in a few days. I almost feel like there was a Hulk or Black Widow movie to be announced but Marvel decided to play mercy rule.

Did you get in the Saturday WB panel? I waited in line for 6 hours and still didn't get in.

aaah yes.. I did get into the Saturday WB Panel! my ass got up at 4am and took the trolley out and stood in line starting at 5am! it was a damn good panel... they really know how to put on a show... i got chills during the Man of Steel footage... LOVED LOVED LOVED the 12 minutes of Hobbit footage... amazing! can't wait to see the movie... also loved the stuff by Legendary... Guillermo del Toro is a genius and his Pacific Rim looks incredible... he definitely is going to pull of monsters vs. aliens... and the Godzilla trailer looked pretty badass... hopefully it won't be horrible
and I got lazy because i've been so tired... which is why i haven't been updating my comic con experience... but for those of you that care i'll probably write what i did in a day or so.... i'm still just recovering from all five days!
I was there all day on Thursday and Sunday....and yes, I too am still recovering as well.
