They're American, but their album was only released in the UK.
And yes, they were crazy. Their lyrics included:

I have you on MySpace. You used to have LJ, too.

They were a novelty act. No one really liked them except for teeny-boppers. "Daphne", whose real name is Karen DiConcetto, was in Dog Sees God Off-Broadway.

If you can find some of their songs (like iTunes or on a D&C fansite) go ahead and listen to them. It's pretty superficial, though. But, once again, nice for a laugh.
