Computer help? Adding wireless router to Comcast

I have a Linksys router (WRT54GS) and I have Comcast internet. I follow all of the intructions and I can only get as far as the Linksys install software telling me that my Linksys router is not a Linksys router (it is...no question about that). Is Comcast making this install difficult on purpose? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Comcast is not making the install difficult on purpose!

When we installed Linksys + Comcast, there was a step that was not well-communicated in the instructions, so we had to call the Lynksys helpline and they walked us through it. That's my suggestion. Hope it helps!

More info:

When you call the Lynksys helpline, the first thing they will tell you is that your computer should be hardwired to the wireless router. So make sure your router is connected to your computer by ethernet cable.

Just checking to make sure you've completed this step.

Absolutely agree. Call Linksys. Comcast cannot help with this. Linksys needs to step you through it.

Thanks miss pennywise. Your second post describes where I think my problem is. When I have the router hooked up between my modem and my computer my computer can no longer get online. I'll give them a call. Hopefully I'll get someone that can speak English. :)
