I saw it last week. Oddly, the first reel's sound was out of sych and then it corrected. I thought it was good, but I'm so overly familiar with the story that there really was nothing new for me to learn from it. Having said that, crazy Samantha Morton was great.
Even greater though are the reissues of the two Joy Division albums. The remasterings are pristeen. "Unknown Pleasures" came out the week I graduated high school and I bought it not long after. I can't recall the last time I listened to the whole thing through, but I bought the reissue and put it on and just found myself stunned, immobilized for the entire length of it. It was like hearing it for the first time. Or as if my ears finally grew up enough to transport me into the middle of the music and leave me there. It's absolutely fantastic and a must for every well-rounded music collection.
Listening to the reissue of Closer wasn't as transcendant, but I can't recommend Unknown Pleasures enough.
