This is what I was thinking when I saw the finale. I'd be a great fit.
"If you thought Adam Lambert looked like a natural fit with iconic rockers Queen during American Idol's finale, you weren't the only one.
Hours after it was announced that Lambert was Season 8's runner-up last week, widespread speculation began circulating that the 26-year-old singer had been offered a job as Queen's new front man. While that's not true yet, guitarist Brian May isn't ruling out the possibility."

I initially thought it would be a great idea (I think I even suggested it in the AI thread after the finale), but now I'm not so sure. Queen is pretty second-tier without Freddie Mercury (as evidenced by the Paul Rodgers backfire), and I feel like Adam should do something independently, or even start his own band, Daughtry-style. Or maybe I'm just so blindly devoted to the Mercury legacy that anyone else fronting the band annoys me.
I don't know, I just feel like Adam is hip and fresh, and at this point, Queen is kind of a dinosaur act (and I'm a huge fan of theirs). They need to get George Michael or go home. But I'm pretty sure I'll be outvoted on this one.

Apparently they have approached him. But I've also heard he's been signed.
I think he needs to put out his own album with his own band.
