jrb, because they are republicans. being a republican sometimes means holding your nose and pulling the level on the right. kinda like how the entire democratic party is going to hold it's nose when it votes for kerry. and you're saying us, jrb, did you switch sides?

And, I'm sorry, but are you really saying that if Bush was speaking out against rights for people of color, that there would be a single vote from an African-American?? There sure as hell wouldn't and THAT is why I find any gay man who votes for Bush at this point to have no self respect.

well, there won't be many votes for gw from the african american community and that would be so even if he came out in favor of slavery reparations tomorrow and dumped cheney in favor of reverand al.

nah i was talking about the general feel about john effin' kerry in the democratic circles in which i often travel. they are fond of the hillary quote about ol' jfk2, "you don't have to fall in love, you just have to fall in line!" i am quite certain that the democratic party could run francis the talking mule this year and the powers that be would be extolling his praises and he'd be in a statistical dead heat with bush at this point (although i think his personal approval numbers would be better than kerry's m'self).

You try so hard to make it sound like a bad thing that anyone would be voting against Bush or merely voting Democratic. Honey, people always vote for those reasons--whether Democratic or Republican.

They just have MORE of a reason this time.

and what's so different about your guy kerry being for an amendment to the state constitution banning gay marriage in mass, which he stated publicly. it's ok for the state to discriminate but not the nation?
