Crash at SFO - Two confirmed deaths

Looks like everyone made it out safely, but the plane tried to be an Olympic gymnast and do a cartwheel.

SFO has been shut down indefinitely, which means it's going to be a really slow night or a very hectic night for the hotel industry. I know I had guests on a 2PM flight today.

The article you link to is titled "At Least Two Dead..." and that's repeated in the first sentence of the body of the story, unless that was edited in after you posted it. So seems like it's more than just a facebook rumor.

40+ seriously injured and at least two dead. That's the latest.

It's way too early to say whether there were deaths or injuries. There is misinformation coming from left and right.

The only thing confirmed is that 8 adults and 2 children were sent to the hospital as a result of the crash, and some passengers that were on the plane were able to walk off and are relatively unharmed.

It's so interesting to see how the different media outlets are releasing "information." The event is unfolding now. Let's disregard "news" as fact until they get their "facts" straight.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Social media had this way before the major news outlets did. I went straight to some of my hometown stations and hardly anyone was mentioning it. KCBS, generally THE best radio news source in the Bay Area, took about 20 minutes to even mention it during their broadcast (they were still talking about sports and weekend activities), even though I'm pretty sure the FAA had already tweeted about it. They finally did get two reporters on the scene and since then it's been very good coverage.

I heard today that the injuries on one of the girls were consistent with someone who had been run over. It is thought she may have been run over by an emergency vehicle.

Can you imagine surviving a plane crash only to be run over and killed by the people coming to save you?
