Goren was fired for a variety of reasons, but mostly because he was considered mentally unstable (surprise!). To me the final scene left open the possibility that Eames wasn't leaving entirely, maybe just refusing the offer to be captain and taking time off. Has to be tough when your first and only act as Captain pro tem is firing your partner, and if she does resign (likely), it will be out of loyalty to him.
The door was also left wide open for a Goren return, most likely in the employ of the FBI.

I like where your heads at ghostlight, i think there could be a Goren return in the future too.. I'm glad they didnt kill him off, he needed a good exit storyline too and i think this one definitely did his long tenure on the show justice..
How do yall feel about Goldblum? I'm looking forward to seeing more of him...

Posted: 4/7/10 at 4:05pmWelcome kooky, and Chloe, I think they would have been foolish to have not left that door open at least a crack. Loved Goldblum in Pillowman, the short-lived series Raines (it's on Hulu, I think, if you haven't seen it), and I like him as Nichols here. Raines is a kind of a precursor to Nichols, just a little crazier.

Yeah agreed, i'm certainly not expecting one in the near future and i'm enjoying the new cast but i'm glad they left the door open. Here's a clip from tonight's episode, i'm excited for Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio coming on, are yall a fan of hers? i think she'll be a good addition
