I am a graduate of Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA.
I have just received word that due to the economy and lack of enrollment cuts are being made. All of the adjunct professors have been terminated and they have turned their eyes to the arts (as usual). My major (Fine Arts) is already gone along with music. The art and theatre departments are facing drastic cuts.
I'm at a loss over what to do. I don't have the money to help and I don't live locally so I can't volunteer or anything.
I'm just at a total loss. My entire department is gone with the swipe of a pen. I can truly say that this school molded me and without it I probably wouldn't be the bright, outgoing woman I am today.
There's talk of putting on an alumnae show but that takes money that they can't invest right now. There are a lot of people working hard to save these programs but I'm not sure what can be done.
