Damn job applications. XP

I hate filling out job application forms. I have no idea how many days I've had sick in the last two years; not because I lost count or anything, but because I never bothered to keep count in the first place. I need to find someone willing to act as my second reference, and I have to write a supporting statement, which is my main opportunity to sell myself, at least enough to bag an interview. And I REALLY REALLY WANT this job (box office at a theatre complex I adore), so anything I feel like writing in this statement just won't seem good enough.
The only thing I hate more than filling out job applications is being unemployed in the first place. Well, job interviews are pretty sucky as well. I'm just not in a happy place when I'm not employed.

I recently filled out a job application that asked if I could sing. What the eff does that have to do with teaching English?
I feel your pain, baby.

They just threw that one in to make sure you're a real person and not a robot

Posted: 6/16/08 at 3:07amI hear ya, Weez. Or rather, my husband hears ya, since he's in the middle of the whole job-search fiasco, too. His biggest gripe is online applications that make you fill out the same exact information that appears on your resume. What's the point of submitting both?, he wonders.
