Dancing with the Stars

Anyone else who's been following this series must be as upset and angry as I am that John and Charlotte didn't win. It's a real shame.

I'm so happy Kelly won! She sucked the first week and I was sure she was gone. She worked her tiny little ass off and came SO far.

Meanwhile, did you see Holyfield?? Holy crap, he was awful.

No, but I will say that I think the dancing is terrible, I mean, the real dancers are just dancing circles around the celebs, making them look like they can sort of dance. And wtf is up with Joey Mac on there? HELLO, HE WAS ON BWAY, HE CAN REALLY DANCE.

re: Dancing with the Stars

I think the idea was that these people can't really dance all that well. I don't think they picked these people based on prior dance experience (ie holyfield) and I don't think J-Macs broadway experience makes it any easier to do Ballroom style dancing. I thought that for what it was, those celebrities worked their asses off! Kelly was great, but man, John worked his ass off the entire time and was consistant! Plus he's a male and in his 50's! You gotta reward that! lol Did you see those hips!? re: Dancing with the Stars

re: Dancing with the Stars

I'm with you Rathnait...good for Kelly (although I would have been just as happy if John won)!

I rolled my eyes to heaven when I first saw the commercials for this show...a week later I was channel surfing, got sucked in, and by the end of the episode I was hooked. A nice, fun little summer-TV suprise.

I do hope, however, that "Dancing With the Stars" is the last we will ever see of Trista Sutter (I know it's wishful thinking, though...as soon as she's pregnant and giving birth, ABC will be there, shoving a camera up under her hospital gown...the woman has no shame).

re: Dancing with the Stars

I was very happy Kelly won. She was one of my favorites from the beginning and I think she was poorly judged in the first two weeks. Rachel and Holyfield were far worse than either Kelly or Trista. Kelly worked her butt off and it showed. John was good, but didn't show that much improvement from start to finish.

CJWesselman - Honestly, I don't think anyone is going to read your signature.

I was upset about the win too. I preferred every single one of John and Charlotte's dances more than Alec and Kelly's, even though it does impress me that she worked hard.

re: Dancing with the Stars

I was also routing for John and Charlotte. They did an interview on one of the entertainment shows (can't recall- it was either Access Hollywood or Extra) and he said something about being in talks for a Broadway show. Did anyone else see this? I could be wrong about where I saw it, but I know he definitely said something about Broadway. When the interviewer asked what show, he said it was too early to discuss.

re: Dancing with the Stars

I too was routing for John and Charlotte. Alec was the dancer, he was absolutely terrific. NCGuy thanks for the morning laugh, I could not agree with you more

re: Dancing with the Stars

Well the freestyle was easier for Kelly and Alec, since he already knew how to do all of the lifts.

Forgive me if I'm still smoldering with anger.

re: Dancing with the Stars

Kelly didn't know how to do the lifts. It's actually almost harder if the girl does not know how to do them. She is the one who has to distribute her weight and keep her balance. What Kelly did was extremely difficult for a female beginner.

The word is "rooting", people. "Routing" is what happens to mail.

re: Dancing with the Stars

I have to agree that I think John and Charlotte should have won. They gave the most well-rounded presentations - the showmanship, the character, the elegance, the fun - it was all there. I never once saw Kelly seem to have any fun - and she was very stiff. I believe she won because she's a pretty, young thing with great abs and she appeals to the younger crowd. She moves well enough, but is very stiff and never looks like she's enjoying herself - as opposed to John, who always seemed to be having a blast out there on the floor no matter what the given circumstances were. He rose to the challenge and I think he should have won.

Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

re: Dancing with the Stars

redhot, I felt like John didn't improve much from day 1 to the finals. Kelly obviously worked VERY hard and I did feel she began to show some personality. I also believed from the beginning that it was unfair to pit the men against the women - these dances are all about the women and the men did not have anywhere near as much to learn or to do physically.

re: Dancing with the Stars

Kelly worked very hard, as did John. But I think the improvement in Kelly was rewarded. That and she is so fricking hot!

Go Kelly! I think that John and Charlotte were amazing but I had to route for the underdog! Speaking of reality tv, did anyone else think the geico commercial about the small house was for real? Well, that's my random question for the day!:)

Talks for a B'way show...okay I'll be the first to speculate. I could see him as Lawrence Jameson in DRS.
