jeez, calm down there, Pal. Why so defensive? I wasn't being nasty, I was trying to lighten the mood! wow, tough crowd.
edit- Jess, of course you can post it, I have no problem with that. I truly didn't know if you knew how old that chain letter was or not. I didn't think I was being nasty about it. I guess that's what I get for venturing into political threads. I won't make that mistake again!!

Sorry EiR...if that was a joke, then I'm sorry. The "that chain letter is older than dirt" comment sounded like you were implying it was wrong to post it. Sometimes it's hard to tell people's tone on a message board. No hard feelings.
There's no need to attack her, she didn't write it, she just posted it.
And to everyone, especially GOTHAM and RODNEY:
Keep this in mind when quoting this BIBLE. It's literature. Complete literature. It could be true - probably no, but some of it could be. And even if it was written by these "holy" people - it was just that - written my man. It makes absolutely no sense to me how people can try to live their lives by this book that is nothing but stories written by man. As written in a favorite book of mine, the author says that the bible did not arrive by facsimilie from heaven. It's a BOOK. It doesn't make sense to me, and I will never understand it. Why not decide what's right for yourself, instead of getting all the answers from a book.

And to everyone, especially MUNKUSTRAP:
That is your opinion, thank you for it, but other people have other opinions.
My opinion is that the Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guided every word that is written in it and the Holy Spirit makes it as real today as the first day that it was written. In addition, it's more than stories. The books of Romans through Jude are letters. If someone wrote you a letter full of wonderful information, would you just tear it up and say "It's just a story?"
Gothampc "Curtain, you better go back and read it again.
Romans 1:26-27 is one place that mentions it"
As Pal Joey answered " Biblical scholars pretty much agree that the vague wording of Romans 1:26-27 is about sexual practices connected to IDOL WORSHIP, which was a big deal in Jesus' time. "
So do you have any other wrong examples of where the new testament comdemns homosexuality?
PLEASE PEOPLE!
Can we stop the fighting. Let us agree to disagree about the bible.
For the record I believe that the bible is BASED on the word of God but that it was written by MAN for MAN'S reasons.

South FL Marc, since PalJoey never bothers to give answers to questions I've asked, I'll put the challenge to you.
"Biblical scholars pretty much agree that the vague wording of Romans 1:26-27 is about sexual practices connected to IDOL WORSHIP, which was a big deal in Jesus' time."
You produce three well known, well respected Biblical scholars that say this. I'm not talking about some article you read in Out Magazine, I'm talking three well known biblical scholars that support your belief.
If we are going to get technical, the new testiment says that ALL sins are the same in God's eyes except the sin of rejecting Christ. So, homosexuality is the same as murder....is the same as lying......is the same as lusting....is the same as stealing.....is the sin of wanting what your neighbor has. That is my problem with what many Christians believe. They pick and choose what they want from the Bible. In the new testiment, is says that only men can be preachers, yet there are women preachers all over the place. I think we take was JESUS himself said and follow that. Also, in the new testiment, Jesus says when asked about the most important commandments are....he says, "Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and love your neighbors as yourself." Now, would you want others critizing you and taking away your rights? The reason why people left Europe and came to America was to escape religious persicution (along with other things) but our country is being run pretty much the same way. If the Bible says anything that can possibly be considered going against a person's rights, that is what is used. This country allows "freedom of religion" but if it is not Christianity, people get prosecuted for it. We have completely gone back to what people came to America to escape. I am a Christian, but I FIRMLY believe in individual rights.
Goth--that was not directed at you. I was just saying "in general"
whatever happened to separation of church and....
church and....
