Sorry for this stupid post, but I have tried Google and it's not assisting me today! I have a morning meeting coming up near the airport in Newark and need to get bagels. Anyone have anywhere you can recommend? A few miles away is fine. Thanks in advance for any help. :)
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
Manhattan Bagel's website says they have a location in Union - six miles from Newark.

We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".

I know the zip, I was just asking for personal recommendations. Manhattan Bagel is a big chain and isn't that good. I don't want a bagel I could get in North Carolina (lol) but I appreciate the help.
Thanks, Theaterfan. That's about 8 miles from my meeting, but I could give them a shot!

Jersey bagels suck. There used to be a few good places up north in Passaic and Teaneck. Long gone. Best bet now is chains like Manhattan Bagels. But the best bagels anywhere can be found a few miles away in Staten Island, which many consider the bagel capitol of the world. You can find them at just about any major intersection. There are three of them on the corner of Forest and Richmond Aves. But my favorite is on the south shore, Seguine, on the corner of Seguine Ave and Amboy Rd. It's a bit of a hassle getting there from EWR, with the traffic and bridge tolls, but a worthy road trip in quest of (more than) decent bagels.
I just remembered, and I haven't been there in years, but Elmora Bagels, 183 Elmora Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. They're pretty decent, and near a good old time Jewish neighborhood, very close to EWR, but for the traffic. Still, if you've got the time, go to SI.
