Yikes!

I don't know if uploading this to the web was such a great idea...

They're not too bad (I only listen to the opening "I hope you're happy) but who are they? And why is the hair color flipped?

In all fairness, I only listened to the first & last 2 minutes. But that was enough.

I think that it's the acting.

But I can't sing at all, so I won't talk about that. re: Defying Defying Gravity

Ok, just watched the very end.

5 comments:

"Take" was totally dipthonged.
What the heck were those boys doing if they didn't sing?
What the heck was that last note Glinda sang?
Elphaba was overacting just a bit

Otherwise, the girls had pretty good voices.

Good lord, there were more hand & arm movements than in Deaf West's Big River. Hand movements do not equal intensity.
& yes, I think I'm a tad bit cranky right now.

Emonkeygirl- LOL

The boys popping out so randomly- that made me giggle.

It should have just been performed as a solo, because I didn't feel any dramatics that should have been present with the duo.

The excessive hand/arm movement made me laugh!! And those "guards" that come out in the end are hilarious. Other than that, i think we found our new glinda and elphaba. HAHAHHA re: Defying Defying Gravity

The Elphaba had a great voice.

The Glinda needs to just stop now.

The girl that sang for Elphaba is a member here, and she posted that link on the main board.

She's 15, so give her a break.

Glinda is her younger sister.

I starred in a short film called Magnetic Personality. Check it out!

If people post things, they should expect comments of that sort.

But that whole big website. Oy. Just...oy.

For 15 that is not bad at all. I have heard much worse out of college students who are musical theatre majors. On the acting, they are 15, still learning. There were a few weak points, but I don't know of many 15 year olds who could have done as good of a job as that singing it.

For 15, the singing is not bad, but the song was not a wise choice for a 15 year-old. If she ever spent more than one day on this board, then she would know what kind of response it might get. But I didn't find it on this board....

Seriously, there is some talent in the voice, but if she wants to pursue musical theatre, then the comments and criticism will help.

Yep you need tough skin if you want to make it in musical theatre. Can't let people's criticisms get to you. I was trying to be constructive because I was afraid she would see all of this as saying "You suck" or something. I would definately recommend getting into voice lessons with a private tacher if she isn't already. Defying Gravity really isn't a good choice for 15 year olds, the sad thing is it is probably that age range that is most attracted to using that song. Ah well.

All the singing stuff aside, I have to tell you I died when those boys came running in. Especially the chubby one. I thought I was going to pee in my pants. It was just so unexpected I guess.

I don't think you should have posted video of Kristin & Idina in San Francicsco with the show. We all know it went through a lot of changes and it really isn't fair to them to show this.

The air quotes on "if that's 'love'" were what did it for me.
But it's not that bad...really.
The accompianist blew it more than they did.
We will see much worse in the years to come.

They do have a lovely website.

Wow that scared me ****less. The hand motions made it seem like a comedic performance. And how about Glinda when she hit loud notes and looked at the audience? It was very frightening. That girls voice will be gone by the time shes 17 at her yelling abilities.
