I just watched this for the very first time tonight and was wondering if anyone else has seen it. I thought it was a pretty interesting take on the show. Really loved the STORMY WEATHER ending.

I don't know if I want to see this, especially because I'm not that familiar with Shakespeare's original play as I probably should be.

I've seen some of Jarman's other films (Edward III, Sebastiane, Caravaggio) which I liked but I just couldn't get through Jubilee. The Garden is next on my list.

He makes The Tempest pretty abstract and avant-garde. He also gives the majority of the characters severe mental problems.

There's a GREAT scene where Caliban is eating a raw egg and laughing maniacally to himself.
