Just finishing up some time in the Mojave desert and thought I'd share some pictures:
A beautiful "seussian" fantasy.
These were taken in the Joshua Tree National Park in the southern end of the Mojave near Palm Springs.

The pics are beautiful! I have been in that area many times and find it breathtaking. Sometimes the pics don't convey the tranquility of the desert. You have to see it yourself.
Tom,
These are breathtaking! I've also been there many times and you've really captured the beauty of the desert there. A couple of those almost look like beautiful paintings. Congratulations on them!
It's true! A very spiritual place. I just love it. Tranquil and profound.
My parents moved to Nevada over 20 years ago and they immediately fell in love with the desert. The changes in the desert both seasonally and simply throughout the course of a day inspired Dad to start taking art classes so he could try his hand at painting. He never became very good at it but he never lost his love for the desert and it gave him great peace and tranquility in his final years.

You'll have to finish the hat first...
Thanks, Kasie!
Here's a few more...
Tom - when were these taken? I mean - what time of the year?
These were taken on Thursday of last week.
You MUST go back in the spring - when the cactus blooms. It's breathtaking!
I was there a couple of years ago and it truly was breathtaking. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the blooming cacti.
I did get some shots of the wild desert flowers though.
My folks have a home here now, so I hope to be back more frequently!
Oh well, I'm back in NYC! As much as I love the desert, I always miss my town.
Don't miss the cold, though...brrrr
You definitely should visit! I wish I could have been able to shoot the sunrise and sunset. The most beautiful colors imaginable.
A photographers dream.
Those photos are beautiful too. I have never been to a desert..well.. Las Vegas..but I did not see any landscape as beautiful as this.. thanks tom...
