I understand that you guys (American), love the British Royal Family, it is Queen Elizabeth 2nd, diamond jubilee today, where Her majesty the Queen will be sailing through London on the river Thames to celebrate her 60th Jubilee, past Big Ben, Parliament, The London Eye, St Paul's, Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

Just curious if this will be aired on American television today and if any of you guys will be watching.

Yes. It's on. Just watched the queen get all giggly about War Horse. Though I don't think you can generalize that Americans feel one way or another about the royals. Some love them. SOme think they're relics of another time.

I wanted to watch this but it wasn't broadcast on any of the standard channels and I don't subscribe to BBC America. Will there be a video released? I'd like to see it.

I watched bits and pieces and have found many clips on line today through the various papers. I adore British pomp and circumstance, but that's probably because my grand mum was a Brit.

Most Americans do love the queen.

According to a recent CBS News/ New York Times poll, Queen Elizabeth II has a 61 percent favorable rating among Americans, with a mere 7 percent holding an unfavorable view of the British monarch (a further 25 percent are undecided).

I wish I was in London today. One of my most favorite cities. I'll be back very soon.

I was there. Lovely dinner with Betty and Phil. Highlight of the evening was Betty gesturing to the staff wildly as she called out "Will one of you old queens fetch THIS old queen another bottle of Champagne?"

Sad to see Prince Phillip rushed to hospital.

Interesting fact, probably more people in Britain who are anti monarchy.

Well, you have to pay for her and we don't. It's easy for us to say, "Go, Queenie!" when we don't have to pay for her 'going' expenses.

Those type of polls often don't stretch far enough. For me, I think the Queen is an interesting woman who has seen many things in her life and loves her country. Would I want to live under a monarchy? No.

And Bluemoon, I think I'd rather pay the Queen's expenses than the Obamas. They have racked up millions of dollars on their taxpayer funded vacations. For someone who wanted to be in the White House so much, he sure doesn't spend much time there.

It's always been my impression that the monarchy more than pays for itself.

Poor woman had to open up her palace to the unwashed masses to make a little pocket money.

Goth: Simple question- you can answer it in one word- NO ONE LETTER!

Have the Obamas spent MORE or LESS on vacations than the previous president?

A) More
B) Less

You can answer by letter

"Have the Obamas spent MORE or LESS on vacations than the previous president?"

Much, much more! The Loafer-in-Chief has played over 100 games of golf during his tenure, more than any other POTUS.

I'll answer in your style: WRONG! Chicken Hawk George W Bush didn't ever serve in Viet Nam and took us to war in Iraq!

Incidentally, for those of you who value actual truth, President Obama has spent far less time (or money) on vacation than any president since Truman. In fact, George W Bush has spent more time on vacation than any president in history, with more time spent "away" from the white house in any year than Obama has spent to date.

But Bush pretended to give up golf to show solidarity with the troops, so of course that makes Obama the worst!

Not at all. Even the Guardian acknowledges that "80% of Britons back the monarchy".

For all the trash that has been thrown at the monarchy over the last 25 years what we can clearly see from the Leveson Enquiry is spineless politicians, corrupt police and criminal media: the monarchy emerges with its integrity intact, as do the Church and the Armed Forces. The corruption and failure has been with those doing the criticising all along.

I was watching some of it on ABC this morning. I'm a little sad that "Big Ben" is being renamed but I understand why. A lovely tribute.
