I have my doubts that it was really her. The lip synching was too perfect. There are some serious questions here.
I suggest an investigation.

It's pretty obvious that all of France and Hollywood are behind this cover-up.

Plus, her next movie is with Johnny Depp, and Johnny Depp's partner is Vanessa Paradis, and SHE'S French. You see how this is all adding up!

The rumor mill says it was actually Jerry Lewis who played Piaf. But the producers feared that he would not be taken seriously in the role so they invented Marion Cotilliard. Shhhhhhhh, don't tell the Academy.
