Did anyone else lose power in Chicago last night?

I survived the earlier storms, around 8 PM, although I clearly heard the tornado siren. Then, during the later storm (around 11 or 11:30) I lost power and I still don't have it back. I'm at work, so it's possible it's come on since then, but there is no updates on time at ComEd.

That was a crazy storm!

I'm way up northwest and while we had house shaking thunder, no big winds or rain and we stayed electrified. Doesn't it seem this summer has been one damn storm after another?

^ I think so. We didn't lose power but those were the biggest lightening-strikes (?) I have ever seen! I was in class at Loyola (in Roger's Park) at night and our teacher was totally ignoring the storm despite the fact that the class had basically stopped listening to her, haha. And I had left my windows open at home! :/

My parents lost power last night in Hyde Park. They are still without power now.

I'm in Wicker Park and while we had some flickering, our electricity stayed on. That's the first time I've heard the sirens in the city of Chicago since I moved here in 1989 -- scary!

Yeah, the sirens were upsetting. I'm in Ravenswood and the wind didn't kick up until after the sirens so I was startled. I was so happy when that front passed and I kept power, but then it went out during the later storm.

I am leaving on vacation Friday and I have soooo much to do before I leave. I hope the power is back on when I get home tonight.

I would have hated to be at Wrigley when they tried to evacuate everyone down to the concourse.

I am on the northwest side of the city, and that was one of the most incredible storms that I have seen here in 23 years. The thunder and lightning was amazing. My son was crying in fear and the girls were freaking! We had no damage other than small branches.

I have seen some great footage of Wrigley on YouTube.

Rogers Park and Edgewater are both very nice, with some rough areas. Convenient transportation.

I live in Rogers Park and between the metra, the L and the bus, you can pretty much get anywhere.

I walked to the corner store and saw that there was no power just a few blocks from me. Not a burden that I would want!
