Did anyone else watch History Channel's BIBLE?

I'm working my way through the DVD set now, and I'm wondering if anyone else watched this and thought, Boy, if I really want to sell Christianity in the worst possible light, here's how I would do it!?

Great production values and some decent special effects as far as I've gotten (which is to the end of the story of Samson and the appointment of Saul as king), but so much of it just seems oddly prioritized.

Anyone else see it?

Didnt see the thread, so apologies for starting a new one.

But I just crawled through the mess that was the next episode. It's a fascinating train wreck, one that I shall keep up there with my DVD of the movie musical THE APPLE.

I think I'd seen a trailer or something for it on TV, but basic-cable dramatizations of that particular book of fairy tales aren't really my cup of tea, and then I found out it was all backed by fundamentalist Christian wackjobs and I'll never give it the time of day, but it sounds like it might be a great hate-watch.

lots of people mustve loved it, it beat American Idol in the ratings

1) American Idol is not the ratings powerhouse it used to be, and hasn't been for a couple of years.

2) It's a religious miniseries from the guy who did Survivor and the lady from Touched By An Angel. Of course, people in America watched it. And it got press during the Obama/Satan story that could have gotten people to tune in, just to see what Satan would do.
