I don't think when Liza says "one of us" she is being any more accurate than when she says "every Monday night, every single Monday night, they got arrested."
That's just the way she speaks: hyperbole.
Lorna never had a 2-book deal. I don't know any show-biz memoirs that get 2-book deals, which are generally reserved for repeating novelists and cookbook writers.
Although when Liza was married to David Gest, he was shopping her around for a 2-book deal. One book was to be the memoir she had previously vowed never to write and the other, I kid you not, co-written with David Gest, was going to be The Liza Minnelli Guide to Diet-and-Health.
The deal never went through.

I believe that's Martha Graham she's doing.
She also says the "fiftieth" anniversary of Stonewall (and her mother's death).
It's the 40th.

Posted: 7/2/09 at 2:15pmThat's actually quite sad to get your mothers death wrong by 10 years.

I could believe that!
I also wish that she would write that memoir...and I wish that should would get on with it before she forgets it all!

I'm sure if Liza wrote a freeform memoir, it would be brilliant!
She'd have herself climbing over the Alps with her brother and sister during the early 1930s, barely escaping the clutches of the evil King of Siam. Her mother was tutoring all of the royal children while performing whenever she could at New England clambakes and Midwestern barn-raising auctions. Those were tough times back then. But they were hearty. And they made it!
It's all true. It happened exactly twenty years ago today when she was six. Then they moved to a south sea island with her mother's fifth husband, the French plantation owner. Things were just terrific until World War III broke out. They were forced to sing for their supper once again!
I know she'd sell the hell out of it, too.

LOL If I thought I could survive it, that would be a truly fascinating gig. I just don't think I'd last beyond the first all-night dinner party/work session. I'd have to check into rehab myself the next day.
Pixar should do the film adaptation, though. They're the only ones who can do the story justice and bring out the truth.
