For those of you who weighed in on this discusion a few days ago, I took your advice and followed it.
A friend of mine, and those discrimnated against, went to talk to the management of Dillard's and IT IS their national policy to not let same sex couples register for gifts.
So again, if this offends you, do not shop at Dillard's and spread the word. If you don't care, then do nothing.
On a happy note, Macy's and Target welcomed the two guys to register. I spent $300 at Macy's this morning buying "back to school clothes."
PS- Check the theard from a few days ago for the first half of this debate. I started a post calling for action.

Posted: 8/6/05 at 1:51pmIsn't Dillard's southern based? I've been in the store a couple of times in Arkansas and it's overpriced and stuffy and blach!

That so innane. It is almost as bad as a doctor I know who will not prescribe birth control if it is for actual birth control, and pharmacies that won't dispense it.
I hated Dillards to begin with, and now, I will spread the word that they are truly evil.
I wonder if 40 years ago they would do the same thing to a mixed race couple? If they are a public company (which I don't know) I wonder what their shareholders would think about them turning business away based upon personal bias and prejudice.
Just wrong, so very wrong.

You actually know a doctor who won't prescribe birth control?
That is insane. Will he prescribe Viagra?

Chita.. are you not American? This battle between "morals/religion/ethics" has been going on for a while now. A woman was prescribed birth control pills, and her pharmacist wouldn't fill it, saying it's against his ethics. She took it to court, and now some states have said that pharmacists can choose to fill whatever they want. (Hey, there is more than one pharmacist in the world, but thats just my opinion.)
On the viagra thing, it's kinda different, no? Viagra does the complete opposite of birth control.
On topic, Dillards... eww.

No it isn't different. Unless the person receiving the prescription of Viagra can prove he is not going to use contraception and only use it with his wife, than no it's not different. It really depends on what ethics the doctor or pharmacist is using as his criteria for not writing the prescription.
And yes Fool, I am an American and quite aware of the different cases you are speaking of. But youwantitwhen posted she knows the doctor. That was my question. Did she know the doctor?
