How come the direction on tv sitcoms is so bad? Don't they hire any directors that have imagination?
I started noticing this years ago on Family Ties. One of the characters would walk into the kitchen and immediately go to the refrigerator and act like they were looking for something to eat or drink. Almost every single time someone entered the kitchen, that's what they did. That bit of business could be thought up by a high school student director.
So why is the direction on tv so bad?
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Maybe because they needed to speak to another character?
