Disappearance of Menu Bar?

Disappearance of Menu Bar: I managed to get it back somehow after 4 restarts and hope this doesn't happen again. My Q is: My new PC is 3 DAYS old! I have NO patience and tech knowledge nor time to spend trying to fix these glitches. Is it normal for a new PC (Lenovo) Windows 7 Prof, to constantly update, etc? I also had mucho problems with Google Chrome homepage also. So I'm back to IE.

It has Norton Security. Do I need to do anything else right now as a caution? The ONLY thing I have to fiddle with is Font size, since my eyes are really bad. I have to set a 18-20 font, then use a 150-200% zoom. Which I did on my last 2 PC with no problem.
