My boyfriend was recently hired at Fry's Electronics (haha, i know...) He was telling today that all the different employees get in their own clique in the break room. The people who speak English huddle together and so on...
Actually I was surprised at my place of work b/c white people actually talk to the Mexican dock workers/ cleaners. And they actually talk back. (unlike other places where they just stare at you, while you awkwardly smile.)
this happens most places, i'm sure. just because people of like backgrounds/interests are friendly in one particular group doesn't mean they are DISCRIMINATING against the rest. i work in a public school, and we all have colleagues that we would rather socialize with more than others. but it doesn't mean we don't treat EVERYONE with professional respect.
