Posted: 8/16/04 at 11:26pmWhat ever happened to the good animated Disney movies with the princesses and the happy endings and the singing? I miss them. What's your favorite Disney classic?

1) Beauty and the Beast
2) The Hunchback of Notre Dame
3) The Little Mermaid.
Wanna know what happened? Michael F*cking Eisner fired all the old-school animators and Roy Disney quit.

How do I narrow it to one?
The Jungle Book
The Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
Cinderella
The Fox and the Hound
Pinoccho
And there's so may more...you can't choose.
And don't forget the live-action movies:
MARY POPPINS!!!

I passionately dislike Eisner.
He needs to resign.

Posted: 8/16/04 at 11:31pmI just finished watching Pocohantas on the Disney channel. "Can YOU paint with ALL the colors of the wind?" Lol

And, secret-soul, PETE'S DRAGON!

Posted: 8/16/04 at 11:33pmI passionately hate Pocahontas...the movie, itself. But most of the music is awesome. "Savages! Savages!"....my best friend from HS does a hysterical rendition of that song...

Beauty & the Beast
Pocohantas... Despite its major historical inaccuracies, I love the music. I guess its b/c she is brave and a free sprit. Mel Gibson's voice sure doesn't hurt either.

Posted: 8/16/04 at 11:34pmI have to say Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc were very cute. But you can't compare that to the Disney classics.

Stick to Priest:
"We got a bill of sale right here! We got a bill o' sale right here....." "I'll be your candle on the water....I'll never let you go"...."Always had one friend by my side, now I've got two...him and you.....him and me...and it's so easy..." "A dragon! A dragon! I swear I saw a dragon"..."It's a brazzle dazzle day!"

Posted: 8/16/04 at 11:38pmI liked Hercules because of Susan Egan...oh and Hades amused me...I also like Tarzan and Atlantis...but only because I started getting sick of the stupid and sappy Disney movies and these two didn't have any "let's break out in song" moments...plus the score for Atlantis on its own was beautiful.

Posted: 8/16/04 at 11:40pmI'm not saying they're "comparable" to the classics. But computer animation has made the classics less interesting to some of the target audiences. However, there has yet to be a computer animated musical. I wonder what's taking so long.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST... I would always wander my house and sing songs from it. I love Belle and wanted to be her when I was little so badly... maybe one day I'll play her(?)
I did love Mary Poppins, too, because I loved the woman who played her when I was little and thought she was a great dancer because she could dance with penguins and a guy that had a cane but wasn't old. I also loved her voice and thought she was so pretty and had beautiful dresses. Little did I know that she was one of the most respected artists ever. Julie Andrews is a godess.

Pete's Dragon was always one of my personal favorites. "Petey! Oh Petey! Where are you?!"
My number one, no exceptions, no immitations, all time favorite is Beauty and the Beast.

Posted: 8/16/04 at 11:45pmCinderella always kind of pissed me off for some reason. I love sleeping beauty. Disney just came out with a few new figures of King Stephen and the Queen and they're GORGEOUS...they look just like they do in the film and, it's true, the animation in that movie was FANTASTIC. Peter Pan was cute.

When Land b4 Time two came out, I knew there was trouble
what are the on now, eleven?
When my family did road trips to my grandparents houses, we brought Bedknobs and Broomsticks for the ride. I love that movie!
I actually have a Mary Poppins curse if you can believe that, but it's not my place to threadjack so I won't go into to it...
