Disney Remaking 20,000 Leagues with...McG?

Looks like Disney is remaking their classic 1954 film, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, with McG in the director's chair.

While I don't see the need for a remake, I'm intrigued. The Jules Verne atmosphere (if kept) could make this a pretty cool flick.

I've always thought that was the most ridiculous name. It's by no means "cool" either it's just weird!

He actually wrote in a message on the "Terminator: Salvation" IMDB page that McG was his nickname has a kid.

I wouldn't mind a remake if they went back to the original Jules Verne book and tried to do that.

If that happened it'd probably be themed to Finding Nemo like they did in Disneyland, unfortunately. Tokyo DisneySea has like an entire Jules Verne section of the park including a Nautilus/20000 Leagues attraction.

The lake has been filled in, and you would never even know there was a body of water there. Pooh's Playful Spot (which was supposed to be temporary, but has been there for years now) exists there now.
