who works in a Broadway house? I'm a directing major at the U of Illinois and I'm going to Manhattan next week and would LOVE to possibly take a tour of a set. PM me to get more info from me. Thanks!

Why don't you just start calling different theatres? It's worth a shot, all they can do is say no.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Aren't there theatres that offer tours? I'd swear the last time I was there, I saw theatre tours advertised. I remembered because I saw an ad for the New Amsterdam theatre tours-- love that!

Next time you are in Chicago, the Chicago Architecture Foundation offers tours of the Auditorium. I hear it's incredible.

If you call the theatres they will say no. They really can't be bothered.

But try the NYC Tourism Dept or some similarly titled group. Maybe even the Times Square Business Improvement District. I seem to recall at some point there was a private company that did a few backstage tours.

The New Amsterdam is a good idea and also there is always the Music Hall. Lincoln Center gives tours, but I don't know if they go backstage or not.
