Marni does not sing in that number, to my knowledge (except as Maria). And, thinking of it, I cannot hear her voice in it. In "The Quintet", her voice is clearly evident, if you are listening for it.
there was a radio interview a couple of years back where marni brought up the fact that she indeed did dub some of moreno's lines in the "i have a love" portion of the "a boy like that/i have a love" duet. betty wand did dub moreno in the "a boy like that" portion of that number.
she made no mention of dubbing any of moreno's parts in "the quintet" sequence but she may have done so as well.
there was so much dubbing in "west side story" that who sang what comes into question.
moreno attests to the fact that she did her own singing for "america" but then sony always credits betty wand with that number on the cd's liner notes much to moreno's chagrin.
Well, I can tell that it is Moreno singing America and the Anita solo part in the Quintet. Also, from reading this it sounds like Betty Wand didn't sing "I Have a Love".....who sang the Anita part....was it Marni Nixon or a mix of Moreno and Nixon?

A Boy Like That was sung by Betty Wand (as Anita). Marni Nixon sang I Have A Love (as Maria). Rita Moreno sang America and the first part of the Quintet. Mostly likely Betty Wand sand some of the middle part, but it is certainly Marni Nixon by the end of Quintet. Saul Chaplin was famous for dubbing people to get the exact sound that he wanted. He dubbed Russ Tamblyn in The Jet Song, but allowed him to sing Krupke. He dubbed Peggy Wood in Climb Every Mountain, even though she started her career, on stage, in operettas, and he dubbed Christopher Plummer, in the same film.
