he performed his piece in time square once.

thankyou matt! your link was very informative ckeaton, if a little too in depth. john cage is my hero. and let me just say: no where except in my post was there a mention of the time square performance. i have a recording somewhere, its truely spectacular.

Somehow I knew about 4'33", I don't know where I learned about it! I think it may have been my music teacher many years ago teaching us about note and rest values...
