I've shown this to many people in my office and no one gets this at all. It's not known for being a particularly challenging strip.

I get it! I get it... cookies for me.

Now for my rendition...
(I've got a remixed version... it's called 9'06 (club version)...

And, go:

Hamlet's father.

It must be the title to some pop song I'm not familiar with, but what about the rest? It's really weird.

I'm not good at discerning other people's sarcasm online sometimes... the above link should help anyone who hasn't heard (pun intended) of Cage's most famous work.

OK. Now I get it. I just didn't know that was the actual title of the work.

I did the same. I had forgotten that the symbols have more than one meaning.

i had a rather tall teacher who would always respond when asked his height by a student, "five nineteen." they'd walk away muttering that he just had to be over six feet!

In the spirit of the far right, I say we blame this misunderstanding on homosexuality...after all if they caused the fall of Rome this would be easy...

the composer of 4'33 is not homosexual.
he performed his piece in time square once.
i just typed a word that solves the whole puzzle
this makes me laugh!!!!!
music is so beautiful. it makes me want to perform it:

wasn't it beautiful?

This is if you were referring to my comment ICB. It would be just like those homosexuals to trick a straight man into composing a piece like that! We all know homosexuals are out to destroy all society in every form. They won't rest until everyone is a mindless sex addict that humps anything that moves!

Choirboy... the mystery has already been solved.
Your wit is redundant.

I blame the liberals for their whining. If the government didn't have to spend so much time and money placating people like Ralph Nader, then every one of us would have .4 acres and a mule, and we could wait in line for bread and toilet paper.

thankyou matt! your link was very informative ckeaton, if a little too in depth. john cage is my hero. and let me just say: no where except in my post was there a mention of the time square performance. i have a recording somewhere, its truely spectacular.

Ha!

Somehow I knew about 4'33", I don't know where I learned about it! I think it may have been my music teacher many years ago teaching us about note and rest values...
