First episodes are always mediocre because it is the pilot. They have to establish so much. The second episode is always ( to some degree) the direction they want the show to take. And by the third they start settling in.

DofB5 is alive and well, just flying more under the radar these days. And for the record, I was very surprised last December when I received an absolutely beautiful Christmas card...an IN THE MAIL with a stamp on it Christmas card...from her. It will probably be my last such card since it seems to be beyond my capabilities to actually mail cards of any kind no matter how good my intentions, but still. It was nice.

Jesus Christ, Pati, I know you PMed me saying that it is your memory that she is DofB here I would just like to direct you to the very first thread ever put up here on BWW. Seriously, take my WORD on such matters. I would reply to you in PM but I have no idea how to put workable links in PMs. So, for your edification, and to encourage you to seriously consider memory-enhancing vitamin supplements, I give, DofB5, the third person to post after Rob opened the site:

DofB, is a very nice lady who is missed. She is still around and occassionally posting. A very nice person, indeed.

I call her Dof (pronounced "dove") after my favorite bar.

Namo, I’m touched that you remember what DofB5 stands for, You are correct. It is for my favorite sci fi shows:

B5 for “Babylon 5”. The ___of___ was meant as a nod to 7 of 9 and all of the “Star Trek” shows . The “D” was for Duncan from “Highlander” but just happened to be the first letter of my first name as well so it works either way.

I never thought of it as “Date of Birth” until another poster pointed that out to me. So much for being original or clever. Ahh well.

I’m glad that you liked the Chistmas card, Iflitifloat.

I still enjoy the CD, Jose. I still can’t believe you had it autographed for me.

Thanks "D". I'm glad I invited you to bask in your glory for the afternoon. And thanks for clarifying that I wasn't totally crazy for thinking someone else thought DofB meant date of birth. I don't pay much attention to screen names after I get to know someone personally. So to me you are always D.

Namo, you are right, ok! So stand on your "see I told you so" throne and take your gingko, but don't get your knickers twisted with me :) Mystery sol-ved.

Anyway, Pati, it was never a mystery to me, I told you what D told me but you insisted I was wrong. Earlier this evening I wrote what I imagined your response would be if you found out that you were in fact, wrong. And here is what I wrote, it's kinda close:

"Namo, take a chill pill, I'm sorry I didn't see your responses who me say you're obsessive NEVER NEVER NEVERland I'm just a woman trying to make a go of it in this business and giving it my best shot which means I don't have as much time as you seem to have to follow every thread I just check here for contacts and I believe everybody has a right to try and make it in this business. As for DofB I don't think it's my place to share her story but let's just say the sugar plantation isn't the kind of place for somebody who hasn't got a taste for sweet AND sour soup followed by a fortune cookie that's brutally honest. But you didn't hear that from me. However _ and you know who I mean will be hearing from my lawyer and hint he is nobody's brother on here because pretty soon it's going to be Colonel Muster in the Drawing Room of Candlestick Park, and I know you know what I mean. Having said that, I can't believe how much time I have wasted and thus I bid you a good night, oh Snails a la Mussels."
