But why must there be blame?
Because this is America. Everyone must choose a side.

I am saying this as informative information from a person who was diagnosed with Bipolar. I am hoping people will take this sincerly and maturely and not make fun as I am opening my private life to you guys to help you understand.
The disease does manifests itself in a different manner for each person. It did seem that this man had something other/more than Bipolar. Even without meds, this 'episode' the man had would not occur in bipolar. I do not think that if the guy had taken the meds, it would have made a difference. Something obviously ticked him off on the plane and this was his reaction. Whose to say that this wouldn't have happened with his meds? Are we even positive that he didn't take his meds?
For me, mine is not bad, Thank G-d. I am on medicine but I went home for the hurricane a few weeks ago and took some meds home thinking I would be home for a few days. It turned out that I was home for over 10 days. After arguing with the insurance company, 4 days after having no meds, I finally got them. However, I lasted those 4 days fine. Maybe I still had some of the meds left in my system but NOTHING would ever set me off into such a state that man was in. I can almost gaurentee you that his medicine did not have any role or any major role in this.
He was more than Bipolar.

No one can ever know or predict what is in the mind of another. Holiday time can trigger some unexpected and unpleasant behavior. It's not unusual for suicidal tendencies to manifest. That was possibly Alpizar's intent. Don't think anyone can ever say with certainty, only speculation.
The "high" in Bipolar is not a happiness high, a drugged high, or anything like that.
In my experience, the "high" is some kind of craziness, bouts of anger etc.
In my experience, it would be possible for someone with Bipolar to yell that they had a bomb.
Someone close to me(P1)once attacked someone else close to me (P2), both physically and verbally. P1 then called the police and had them come to arrest P2.
P1 wasn't even aware he was doing it.
And still to this day, he tries to convince us that it never happened. And that he took his meds...
Etoile is exactly right. There should be no blame...
ETA: Too much personal information...P1 and P2 should suffice.
