Don't take away my tax cuts

I'm not terribly wealthy. I do well, have a home, a car, a dog... basically I live paycheck to paycheck right now though.

John Kerry is pledging to reverse the recent tax cuts, claiming that they only benefit the wealthy. Well, I'm sorry, but they've benefitted me a great deal as well. I can count close to $3000 in my pocket thanks to our current administration.

Of course, since I'm damned to live check to check... I will spend that money on musicals. Thus stimulating the economy. Basic economics... yeah!

Oh and did anyone notice that the economy noticed one of it's stongest positions in 17 years yesterday? (source: Headline News) Manufacturing is up, sales of durable goods are up, unemployment is on it's way down...

Well as you can guess I don't feel the same way, being one of the millions of Americans who has not seen much from W's cuts except for the federal deficit balooning. And if he gets his way I'll never experience the joy of filling out a joint tax return with my spouse to be.

>"the deficit, as expressed as a percentage of the economy, will be cut in half, from 4.2 percent of the economy this year to 1.8 percent of the economy."

Both sides tend to leave out important facts... Economically speaking which is more truthful? Saying the defecit will double over the course of ten years... or taking that number as part of the whole.

A fraction missing a numerator or denominator is pointless. There needs to be a frame of reference. Remember, you used to be able to buy a loaf of bread for a penny. Times change, wealth is created and lost. Inflation is a fact.

Well, if what Kerry is doing is such a bad thing, what do you think about Bush's proposal--prepared to go forward in a few weeks--to cut overtime benefits for millions of Americans?

Nice, huh? Who is this supposed to benefit?

It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali
