Posted: 7/22/04 at 12:34pmIt was the only thing for her character though, really. After Alfred became Doc Ock, what was left for her? She bowed out at the right time. Either that or she called in sick so often they decided to rewrite her scenes so her part was small and fatal.

I didn't know that she was in the movie, and when I saw her in it I got really excited and drove all of my friends crazy
But I think they should have somehow made her live longer, just for us Broadway people!

Yeah, if Donna Murphy in the vital role of Doc Ock's wife were given more time Spider-Man 2 might have been a hit in the theaters, since the masses of theater geeks would have descended on the multiplexes in herds.
I guess Sony will have to settle for their $400,000,000 and lose sleep knowing how if they'd just focused on the diamonds in their cast they could have easily made $400,000,098.

Yes, popcultureboy, I do find it fascinating that she's always perfectly healthy and available for her film/tv jobs. And I wonder how much those jobs have to do with her missing so many WT performances.
And ponine, why would you have that remark about Joel Grey in your signature? What if I said, Forget Kristin? If you don't like the man, fine (and have you honestly seen him in anything other than WICKED?), but don't be disrespectful to a true theater legend and to those of us who hold him in high regard for everything he's done over many years.
