Here's my beef with the so-called Double-Stuff Oreo conglamoration:

They sell packets of 6 regular Oreos for 65 cents at the drugstore. They sell packets of 3 double-stuff Oreos for 65 cents at the drugstore.

So, I'm paying the exact same amount for half the cookies. This would be fine, due to the double amount of stuff, but WHAT ABOUT THE COOKIE??? Do we get twice as many cookies? We do NOT!

Who shares my anger?

Nope -- Double Stuff is so good, it's worth it.

Even my mother agrees, and she works for Nabisco. re: 'Double-Stuff' Oreo rant

Well, of course she'd say that, she's one of THEM! The ones depriving us of our cookies!

If it's bothering you that much, buy the single-stuf, take them apart, add the stuf from one to another, put it back together, and you'll have three double-stuff with six cookies left over.

Well, yes, but that's....er....wow, that does make sense.

Wait, I was still mad about something, I'm SURE of it!

Oh, never mind.

Have you NO thoughts on the Oreos vs Hydrox controversy?

There is no such thing as a bad oreo. An oreo is is & everything else is 2 nd place

Nothing like staying up late, watching a movie drinking milk & eating oreo's

The bestest are the while chocolate covered Oreos...I think those might only be available at Christmas, though.

Everything else is 2nd place?
That claim can not be made until you have encountered the gift to mankind that is...the Tim Tam.
The Aussies know what I'm talking about. I hope.

Poor Hydrox. Hydrox got there first in 1908, with Oreo coming along four years later, but Oreo is the brand that everyone buys and loves. I think Hydrox is the better tasting cookie, but you hardly see it on the shelves, at least in NYC.
Praise for Hydrox

I was a Hydrox gal for a while, 'cause Oreos weren't (or still aren't?) kosher...

Falsetto~I am not an Aussie, but I have been there, and I must agree that Tim Tams are excellent, but Oreos are still better. However, I personally am not a fan of double stuff oreos, because I like the cookie part the best.

Of course, we haven't even touched the subject of the glory that is the Mallomar. The only cookie that tastes great stale.

I don't think I've ever eaten a Mallomar...

Can we discuss Little Debbie Zebra Cakes and Nutty Bars.

And the ENTIRE Tasty-Kake collection.

Elphie? At least you've tried.
I've managed to convert my boyfriend who's American and his entire family. As such, I mail large amounts to North Carolina every so often.

I think Mallomars are just available in the Northeast? Anyway, they are just available from September through April, because the chocolate and marshmallow melt in the box during the summer months.

can i just say that my mom used to tell me to put to regular oreos together to make double stuff...and actually, if you do that, you STILL aren't getting enough of the frosting to make a double stuff..it's more like a 2 3/4 stuff.

Was that a fat joke?

to whoever said it, my birthday cake was 20 zebra cakes on a platter with a candle in each one. Best birthday cake EVER!

Let me tell you...NOTHING compares to Tim-Tam's. NOTHING!

Oreo's have nothing on the glory that is the Tim-Tam...

which reminds me...

After ANSETT folded, Dick Smith and Big Kev were contemplating a partnership to save the Airline...

They were going to call it "Big Dick Airlines" and they were going to take on VIRGIN!
