Eclipse?

Is this supposed to be happening now till about 3 am? I'm looking out my window with high power binocs and the moon seems very bright....just wondering what you're supposed to be seeing? Any astronomy buffs here?

Update: It's looking really pretty cool right now - about 50% "eclipse"!!- I'm very high up and the view is perfect. I used to love astronomy as a kid. Anyone else viewing?

Thanks Q. That's exactly what it looks like from my 44th flr window, except more pinkish, with a faint blueish tinge around the edges...very cool looking during the last 1/2 hr.

I just happened to borrow binoculars this afternoon from a friend for viewing SPIDEY on Wed, mat. Well, that might not happen,but.....

Got to see it disappear into a sliver, but due to our overcast (Seattle) can no longer see it. It was pretty cool, though.

Absolutely gorgeous. I have a perfect vantage point - with the NYC skyline in view.
I'm surprised I could see it as well as I could, given the light, but the night was clear and the moon was beautiful.

Personally, I don't care much for the series as a whole, but I am excited to see the vampire birth in Breaking Dawn!

It makes me happy that there can still be a sense of amazement and wonder in our world.

I urge everyone who was captivated by this event to go to the Hayden Planetarium at the Museum of Natural History and see the beautiful Imax film about the Hubble Telescope.
