Not only was he a great author, he was a wonderful, wonderful man.

I just started reading his books too. Good stuff. Luckily he has quite the library to keep entertaining people for a long, long time.

Love his novels; and of course, THE BIRDS. His book ME AND HITCH is a must read for anyone who loves THE BIRDS.

No more Fat Ollie Weeks or Cotton Hawes - Very bad news indeed

I wish TV Land or another cable station would air the TV series version of 82 nd Precinct that lasted but a single season on Channel 4. It starred Robert Lansing as Carella & , I believe , Gena Rowland as his deaf mute wife

It is hard to fathom that there will be no more adventures of the boys @ the 82 nd. Well, I guess I will have to start reading them all over again
