...disgusted me last night. Her speech is EXACTLY why I am against the Republican Party and this administration.
How dare this party flaunt the word compassion. I guess they are compassionate as long as we aren't discussing gays and lesbians.
I remember being turned off by her speech the year her husband lost.
Get used to her friends because Senator Dole could be the GOP's countervailing force to Senator Clinton in 2008 if Kerry/Edwards don't pull off an upset in November. I see a Giuliani/Dole ticket a mile away if Ms Clinton should jump into the race for her party's nomination.
She's awful.
^Agreed, but she would effectively split the "feminist vote" and help a brash New Yorker, i.e. Giuliani, carry the Old South. Libby Dole is now a Senator from my home state of NC, in Jesse Helm's stead and can cancel out any influence John Edwards has there, especially if the Kerry/Edwards ticket doesn't pan out. A re-elected Bush will put Edwards out of a job in politics since he (Edwards) gave up his Jr. Senate seat.
please, liddy dole will be nearly two hundred eleven years old in 2008 and not even the republican party will be desperate enough to devise a means to give the illusion that she is ambulatory and not merely an animated head on a mannequin's body.
Edwards is the senior Senator from North Carolina, isn't he?
She's a hack and she needs to be stopped.
^No, like Hilary, he's was a Junior Senator. My folks down in NC were reluctant to give him the nod when he sought the Dem nomination because not only is he a Jr. Senator, he looks young for his age. Bible-thumping fundamentalists like a certain "aesthetic" in their leaders.

^Thanks for weighin in & please don't forget about Ronnie!
given that Libby Dole was elected AFTER Edwards, she is the junior senator from NC
^Noted. Thanks for clarifying that. As a Marylander now, I'm somewhat removed from NC politics thank goodness.
She is a big huge pig. I can't stand her and her helmuthead. And I really loathe her bitter nasty husband.
she'll be 72 in 2008 and if she's still alive she'll have about as much chance of getting on the ticket as i do. if they wouldn't give it to jeanne kirkpatrick in '84 they're not gonna give it to liddy dole in '08. liz chao, maybe.
but i will say that there is one thing for which i will not forgive bob dole. he was an early proponent of referring to oneself in the third person and everyone knows that papalovesmambo hates that!
She's so lightweight, Miss Libby, she's barely there. Her yellow dress made more impression than she did -- sort of a buttercup smear across my TV screen as she babbled in the background. She's no Evita Dole; more like Isabella. But even she is too moderate for some of these hard right folk, no? She probably has shocking beliefs, you know, like thinking teen aged girls should be allowed to use tampons instead of pads.
oh no, auggie, she's hard core rightie and she ain't a'feared to show it as she proved last night. the right loves her even though she's just a girl.
Granted her age would definitely be a factor in '08. Several pundits inside the Capitol Beltway here have remarked that '08 will be Hillary's last shot at the White House with her clock ticking in the background. Digressing slightly, the battle lines are drawn for the Senators up for election this year. See http://www.townhall.com/election2004/senate_analysis.html
yeah, that hair is something else, but i just assumed that she's completely bald and picks wigs to match whatever color she's wearing that day.
It's good to see Elizabeth Dole has kept Jesse Helms' tradition alive by achieving a zero on the HRC congressional scorecard.
Consistency is the hobgobblin of small minds.
OK we have to put our thinking caps on. Who will the GOP put on the ticket with Giuliani in '08 to deal with Senator Clinton, who is most certainly likely to seek her party's nomination? I honestly overlooked Senator Dole's projected age in '08. Plus, the NC Senate seat was a consolation prize from her party for her own previous Presidential bid which was DOA. If I recall correctly, she too is a native of NC so the deal might have been a way of putting her out to pasture. While I personally don’t think Hillary Clinton is elect able as President, my GOP colleagues here in Washington are not taking her lightly.
