I know their is already a thread on everyone's top 10, but I thought I would a start a new thread for this. Just because. And please remember this is a UK magazine and the UK is a little um, behind sometimes, so some of these were 2005 movies in the US. So here they are, in descending order:

25. Kung Fu Hustle
24. Hotel Rwanda
23. Everything Is Illuminated
22. Cinderella Man
21. The Constant Gardener
20. Charlie & The Chocolate Factory
19. Night Watch
18. Pride & Prejudice
17. Team America: World Police
16. The Descent
15. Friday Night Lights
14. DIG!
13. Million Dollar Baby
12. Wallace & Gromit: The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit
11. A History Of Violence
10. Serenity
9. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
8. War Of The Worlds
7. Brokeback Mountain
6. Downfall
5. Sin City
4. Revenge Of The Sith
3. Crash
2. Batman Begins
1. Sideways

I am truly taken aback at some of the inclusions and how high some of the films are on the list. Discuss.

4. Are We There Yet?
5. The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3D
6. The Man
7. The Pacifier
8. What The Bleep Do We Know?
9. The Perfect Man
10. Hide And Seek

Weren't some of those films released in 2004? (Not to mention that I've never heard of Empire Magazine.)

Hide and Seek should be #1 on the worst movies list. That was an awful film, one of the worst I've seen.

take a few seconds, Lucious, and read the paragraph that precedes the films list. It should explain everything.

And some of the films they classify as best would end up on my year end worst list. The Descent being key among them, swiftly followed by War Of The Worlds.

One can't truly be luscious if you are unaware of British film schedules and popular Brit mags. :P

The Descent is a British film by the same director as Dog Soldiers (did that make it to the US?). Anyway, it got strong reviews and was widely hailed as the most terrifying film in years. It was a poorly scripted, badly acted, fright free joke of a film.

I thought DOG SOLDIERS was really overrated. Can't find ANYTHING about THE DESCENT.

I like reading Empire sometimes, since you can count on their opinions often being a bit different than the company line in the U.S. I'm really not sure about that top 25, though. o_O

It's strange that Empire would release a top 25 list so soon, considering they haven't seen some of their own most anticipated movies yet: it isn't even confirmed that KING KONG has been completed.

I think King Kong is the only film scheduled to open in the UK in 2005 that they hadn't seen at time of compiling that list. Oh, that and Narnia.

Which is funny, because those are the two films that Empire has been profiling the most in their magazine this year.

I know, go figure, right? Well for some reason this is their Jan 2006 issue, and next month will be the preview of next year.

Pardon me for never having heard of a second rate, half-assed magazine from a third rate, ass-backward, country. And honey... you have no idea just how luscious, Luscious can be!

If the UK is a third rate, ass-backward, country, I can only imagine where that places the U.S. **sticks out tongue**
