Folies Bergere, the longest running show in Vegas, closed after almost 50 years on 3/28. It spawned both the original and the new Vegas. I feel it is the first of many that will not survive the recession.Next year, Vegas will be quite different when we return.

Guiding Light,a TV soap opera pioneer,is going off after over
70 years. This was simply a show that had run its course. 70 years for anything like this is nothing short of phenominal.

Congratulations to the cast of both.

I visited les Folies Bergere in 1976. They were experiencing financial problems at that time because they couldn't afford any blouses for the girls to wear on stage. The closing doesn't surprise me.
