Eragon book series...

so i'm deciding what other books i want to read after i finish the hunger games... i like fantasy stuff and have always been interested in reading the Eragon books (although I know the movie is awful, i really like it!)... has anyone read it and what did you think of it? thanks

Have not read Eragon but I can recommend Terry Brooks' Magic Kingdom of Landover series (6 books). First book is called "Magic Kingdom For Sale-SOLD!" I read 5 out of the 6...didn't realize there was a 6th and actually just picked it up recently to put on my book pile to read soon. I tried to read his Shannara series but didn't get into it.

I never got past the first book in the series, but words cannot describe how much I hated it. If you basically take "Star Wars" and dress it up in "Lord of the Rings," then imagine it told in a profoundly stupid fashion, you'll pretty much get the gist.

"Your lyrics lack subtlety! You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!"

I read the first book when the movie was released, and it gave me a headache. I definitely agree that it is a Star Wars/Lord of the Rings hybrid that is very inferior to each of them. Most of the plot had no real purpose. A lot of it was cleaned up in the movie to flow better, but it still didn't really work.
